New Format First up, we have some exciting changes coming to Writers-Slam (https://www.deviantart.com/writers-slam)! We've partnered with PoetryPlease (https://www.deviantart.com/poetryplease) and ProsePlease (https://www.deviantart.com/proseplease) in order to keep the Podcast going. This does mean some changes in the way that we will be doing things. First up, we will no longer be accepting open submissions. Luckily! It's quite easy to become a member of either of these wonderful clubs. Second, we will be holding auditions for readers from this point on. We are hoping that this step will help drive home the seriousness with which we take the podcast. Of course, some of our readers will not need to re-audition, but if you do not receive a note fro

Hello everyone, AGMeade here. I have now begun streaming pre-show music for the final open Writers Slam.  Please, feel free to tune in. For instructions on how to listen, you can see our journal here. I just wanted to thank everybody who has made Writers Slam such a huge project. Unfortunately, due to the lack of submissions, we are being forced to either close the project or team with a group of clubs for writers.  No decisions have been made, as of yet, but either way, there will no longer be an open submission format for Writers Slam. Thank you again for the incredible support. It's been great fun. You can download this final podcast he

Updates Writers-Slam has stalled from lack of readers and submissions! We have enough poems for one last podcast, but no one to read them for us. If you have a microphone and are willing to record for us, please send us a note. Thanks everyone! hello want to become an affiliate of my literature club *Lit-Lovers? :)
Well, what if you don't want to become a reader, but want to read your own piece?

My only problem is that if I submitted a work, someone else might not be able to read it aloud correctly. Writers are sensitive about that, I have a specific sound for my poems in mind, a specific tone to go with each word, each line break, etc. The biggest issue that I have, and I'm sure many others have, is that can your 'readers' do our writing justice?

Honestly I would much rather be able to read my own piece then to let anyone else do so.

^__^;;; I hope that didn't sound rude, but that was just my honest opinion.
You are absolutely more than welcome to read your own work. We just ask that you comply with the guidelines we have set up for our own readers.

As always, writers are more than welcome to read their own work if they feel that no one else can do it justice.

Thanks for the question!
Hi, do you only need readers or poetry too?
We need poetry as well
And for poetry, do you want me to note you some or e-mail it.
I'll try to do a recording as well, but an accent might be present...
And do you have a deadline as such?
At this point there is no deadline.

If you are not reading your own, a note would be best so that we can forward it to one of our readers. If you choose to record your own, just email it to us at writers.slam@gmail.com. Please include your deviantART name and a link to the piece.

Thanks!
